  • They’re carnivorous and eat krill, fish and squid.

  • Adélie penguins are found on the Antarctic continent and on a number of Antarctic islands including; Bouvet Island, South Orkney, South Sandwich Islands and many of the islands surrounding Antarctica including the South Shetland islands. They spend the winter offshore in the seas surrounding the Antarctic pack ice.

  • between 4,000,000–5,220,000.

  • Biggest threat

  • The effects of climate change are having an impact on their habitat as the sea ice they depend on for food is melting.

  • That’s a fact!

  • In spring, some Adélie penguins might have to walk up to 50km from their nests to the sea.
